Hair Loss Empty Hair Loss

Post by erin301c Mon 23 Apr 2018, 3:32 pm

Hello. I have spotted slightly concerning bald spot on two of my mice. For background information, I have three mice and have never noticed any problematic grooming behaviors or any health issues. Regarding the bald spot, it is on their noses' in a band in the exact same spot. There seems to be no injuries and there is no balding anywhere else. The whiskers also seem to be missing. I do not know what might be causing it. I would appreciate it if you could help. They don't seem to lethargic or anything and they're eating. It just suddenly appeared today. I have separated them from the non-bald mouse. I will attach some pictures below. I was only able to photograph one mouse but the spots are exactly identical.

Sounds like barbering. More info here: https://www.petmousefanciers.com/t17-itching-hair-loss-and-parasites.

Thank you! That was what my bet was on, too. Just wanted a second opinion.
