Hello, All: I have some topical mite treatment on the way and have never had to use it before. If I treat all four of my mice, do I need to separate them at first so that they don’t just groom it off of each other? I take it that is safe to ingest, as they inevitably will do that. Thanks for any advice.

Hello!

I have a solo male mice and the vet just told us to deep clean his cage before putting him back in there when we got home! We used soap and water to scrub it down. Other folks on Facebook groups have mentioned treating all their mice together but never brought up separating them. Maybe it’d be a good idea to monitor them and if they start to lick each other’s back you can separate them until the treatment dries off since their lil backs will be wet!

I appreciate this youtuber’s channel, this is their video about treating their rats for mites: https://youtu.be/8jghNsZ9yro

Good luck treating them Heart

Thanks for the input. I do have four separate houses that I can split them into, but I feel badly disturbing their routine, and I know they won’t like it. Well, maybe just a few hours will do it. And think of the happy reunion!
