Re: Too Weird to Believe?
Alright. I've decided that to relieve myself of this dilemma, I'm gonna say that Monster is one year old and call it a day. It's better than nothing.
Oh, and Anonymous, mice can slow down as they age, but some mice never will. Little Cow was as spunky and rambunctious as always up to a few hours before her death. Rosie was just as mellow as ever right up to her passing. At the same time, both Lilith and Mabel slowed down considerably up to a week before leaving, but that could've also been due to their internal parasites.

Re: Too Weird to Believe?
From what I've read on winter white russian dwarf hamsters, they usually live about 2 years, so roughly the same as mice. Though it seems as if they might have a bit of a better chance than mice at making it to two.
My oldest mice were still spunky at two but then seemed to age fairly quickly after that. My oldest at 2 years 7 months was a bit of a sorry sight really... thin fur and quite skinny. I still thought she was adorable though.
