Cage Ideas
Hello! I'm rather new to the whole rodent genre, and I'd like a few helpful and fun tips on some things. I get so jealous and inspired at all of this community's mouse cage ideas, like the Holiday/fun/DIY decoratings you guys do. I don't know what mice like very much, so could anyone share with me some fun and easy toy ideas my mice would like, any cool fun ideas to add to my cage, or just a decorating pointer....? Keep in mind I can't exactly travel anywhere, such as I cannot drive all the way to hobby lobby on a spree. I was hoping for simple household object toys. (My mother is an art teacher so she's bound to have all I'll need.)
Usually, I'll hide some cinnamon apple Kellogs flakes in various places for them, and it keeps them occupied But I'd like some more.
Also, I made underground tunnels for them, and frequently set paper and large string to make their nests with. I love to add a toy truck, horse model, dinosaur, or action figure into their pen every day to keep them enthralled and curious!

Re: Cage Ideas
Decorating is so fun! We should have a cage decorating contest.
This thread has some fun, free toy ideas. There's a ghost pinata and some paper pumpkins for Halloween.

This thread has housing pictures, and in my first post there's a link to a bunch more. You might find some good ideas there.

Here's a link to hammock tutorials, if you have fleece or felt handy (only fleece or felt, no other fabrics) and are good at sewing/gluing. Near the bottom there's a pumpkin and a haunted house for Halloween.
