Family cuddles in the hammock
I gave them a hammock again. This time made out of blizzard fleece with a very easy step in and out so they if they did catch a nail they have a chance to get unstuck without injury or falling. It is a hit! Charlotte was too busy exploring to have time for snuggles.

Re: Family cuddles in the hammock
I cut two triangles roughly the size I wanted. I then took safety pins and pinned the two pieces together at the corners. I made the top triangle a little smaller than the smaller one so it made a more obvious gap that they could crawl into but that isn't necessary. I then threaded jute twine through the safety pins and tied in the corner of my bin. When I made my bin I drilled holes around the top edge so I would have areas I could ties things to.

Thank you I think I am going to try and make a couple for my mouse Hugo (who as I speak is running all over my shoulders and back) and connect them to his bin cage topper when I get it fully mouse proofedCanadianExport wrote:I cut two triangles roughly the size I wanted. Re: Family cuddles in the hammock
Every time I give my girls a hammock they just tear it off the lid and use it as a blanket.

Winnie use to do that with EVERYTHING I hung up. Oh a hammock that I am sitting on? Chewed through! Toy? Chewed down and then ignored. Now though they seem to not be trying to chew down as much.

Cute picture!
Silly mice. Mine chew down things hung with twine eventually. I hang the hammocks with either zip ties or metal book rings.

Same CallaLily - anything hung with string will be chewed down. I hang my hammocks with safety pins, and they don't try to destroy them.

I am surprised mine pretty much ignore the twine I have it hung with.

Re: Family cuddles in the hammock
It's funny - Scout has that fabric hamster cube in his cage, he never chews on it and is always asleep in it, he made it his nest. It's like he knows not to eat his own house . I had to hang his hammock with wire though. But my girls will chew anything that is wood, paper, or string. All mice are so different, you never know!

That is so true! Each one of my girls has their own distinct personality!
