Ok. Akiko is to be picked up from the vet tomorrow, after getting spayed sometime today. But I'll hear later tonight how she did.
The kittens all look great. Each weighing between 2 and 3 pounds. First shots and dewormed. The vet also set me up with contact info for a guy that fosters kittens and finds them good homes. No kill. Just need to show him proof mom's fixed and tests negative for feline luekemia and aids, and kittens have first shots. Done and done (or will be). It feels bittersweet.

I imagine it's hard to let the kittens go, but that sounds kinda perfect! What a neat solution.

It is. My youngest son has already shed tears. He is begging to at least keep Ichiro.

Yes. We're keeping Totoro and now Ichiro too. Sorry for the confusion, I meant he wanted to keep at least Ichiro out of the ones that still need homes. If my yougest had his way we'd keep them all.

Yeah. But it really will be better for them and us to send them off to good homes. Hard as it is.

I think it'll be good for the kittens to be in good homes where they can get all the attention they need. I think you're making a good choice.

Oh, I can't imagine having that many grown up cats around. I would definitely want to find homes too. My three overwhelm me sometimes.
