I can't help it. Every morning I go in to check on them, I'm grabbing more pics. Akiko doesn't seem to mind. She begs for scritches under her chin and just purrs and purrs. I try not to disturb them too often. It's difficult.
I haven't picked the babies up much but I took a peek this morning and it looks like 1 boy, 4 girls. I'll check again when they're a bit older just to be sure.
It's so cute when one wiggles up near her face and she puts her paws around it.
I need to wash that blanket but I'm thinking maybe I should give it another few days?

Your morning dose of cuteness.
I tried for individual shots of each but it didn't work out. This is the best one I got.
More mama hugs this morning! I do not pose them at all. They squirm up and Akiko just snuggles them. She has been such a great mama. I was worried when we realized she was pregnant because she's young and a first time mom but she's been awesome!

One pic of each. The last one was super squirmy so I couldn't get any clear shots. I think the one with the whitest face is the boy. If not, then it's the squirmy one.

Yes, this is her first (and last) litter. We had plans to have her spayed but it kept getting pushed back and pushed back with unexpected expenses (car troubles) and Vet visits. I think I mentioned over on TFM a while ago that I had a sick kitty. Thought we were going to lose her for a while there but we finally got the infection under control and now she's slowly making a recovery. One of the other cats had to be taken in a few times too and Seren went once over her tumor. I know it's no excuse but it's how it played out. I'm actually calling my vet today to find out how soon I can get Akiko spayed (I'm assuming not until the kittens are weaned) and also when the babies need their first shots and things.

This gray one is almost always in a cute position where I can get a clear shot of her face. My husband and I are trying to convince my son to name her Totoro. I think he wants to wait and see her personality though.

I called the vet and as expected, Akiko can be fixed after they're weaned. The kittens will go in at 8 weeks for their first visit.
