Three mice sharing a saucer wheel Empty Three mice sharing a saucer wheel

So it's not exactly a picture, but a 10 second video of three of my mice (coal, willow, brucey) running on a new 7in saucer wheel i bought for them. I think it funny how willow (grey/white) jumps over her sisters when they get in her way.

How cute! Best thing about these wheels is that they can share Smile

Oh my gosh, that's too funny! I usually only get one girl at a time on the saucers, but maybe that's because it's "easier" for them to all pile onto the mesh. lol

Cute mice! Smile

Fun!  I watched twice!

After decades of mouse-keeping, I finally have two mice that jump over each other.  Tegan and Zeldah, two of my five lab mice, will occasionally hop over each other like a hurdle when they use their upright plastic wheel.  It is plenty wide enough for them to jog side-by-side.  For some reason, none of the lab mice have learned how to cooperate and jog in tandem.
Yet my obese two-year-old mouse, Lorca, does this very well with her tiny lab mouse roommate.  I wonder what the difference in their mindsets is- why one mouse 'gets' it, but five do not.

In the colony before this one, three of the four girls loved to run on the saucer together...but rarely all three in the same direction at the same time! Here's a rare pic of Carmen (agouti), Musetta (siamese) and Lucia (PEW) actually cooperating Laughing .
