Tame but likes chewing my nails?

So I've had Pietro for a couple months now, and he's pretty tame. He really doesn't like being held, but tolerates it on occasion.
Since I've upgraded his home to a 29 gallon aquarium and given him plenty of places to climb and explore, he's been more affectionate. What's curious to me is that he'll go to my hand and try licking and nibbling on my fingernails and calluses. It doesn't hurt, but it made me wonder what he's doing. Anyone have any ideas?

Don't worry, that's totally normal. Mice have the urge to nibble and pick your nails because they are hard Smile

I've got four little girls myself and that's their favourite hobby as well Smile

I figured he might've been grooming me or something like that. I'm glad it's not anything negative.
