Please let me know...
if Envigo Harlan Teklad 2018 is a good food and if so, would I need a lower protein for adult mice? I alternate it with Natural Balance Vegetarian formula dog food. I have used this diet for many years and the mice have relatively low rates of tumors.

I myself have never heard of the first food, but I'm Canadian. I've never heard of anyone feeding dog food except a piece or two as a treat. Interested to see what others will say.

The food that you mentioned is a bit high in protein for mice. I don't think that this is too big of an issue, but I would reccomend swiching to Mazuri. In my experience dog food should be given as a treat or given to pregnant or lactating mice, along with the pelleted diet. I am NOT an expert but this is my opinion about the subject. You can also use the rat and mouse breeder food from Mazuri.

I'm sorry, but what? Harlan Teklad 2018 is too high in protein but Mazuri isn't? You do realize Harlan Teklad 2018 is 18% protein and Mazuri is 23%, correct?

Harlan and NB veg. are the lowest protein ones I could get. Harlan 14 might be an option. So what would be best? I don't like the ?Mazuri ingredients; seem pretty low quality

I meant that it is good for lactating mice, and young mice.
