As long as your mice are in tanks with metal screen tops, you're good. They're 100% escape proof. A determined mouse can chew out of a window mesh screen top.
As for his tank, you can fit way more MESs in there! Mice like their tanks stuffed full of toys. Take up as much floor space as is available.

Popsicle stick bridges are always a huge hit! I'd love to make one again but my old lady Cordelia doesn't climb anymore

Mesa, with older mice, what you can do is make it so that all towers and high structures have very gradual sloping ladder ramps that lead up to them. Older or lazier mice find it easier to climb up gentle inclines rather than 90 degrees up a ladder. It's what I used to do for Eggi, because she didn't wanna climb too much, but she appreciated the sloping ladders.

they also love paper egg cartons, so if you run across any of those, he would surely love it! you can cut it down into maybe 3 segments so it won't take up too much space. give him one at a time and you will have toys for weeks.

Question - Can Scout and the girls share the same toys and play tanks? (Of course not at the same time). Basically I'm asking, will the smell of Scout bother/excite the girls, and will the smell of the girls on the toys bother or excite Scout?
