Sunshine went to the vet because she had lost a lot of weight in only a few weeks. She was nearing 19 months, so I initially figured the weight loss was due to aging. The vet scheduled a second appointment to test for things like diabetes. He didn't get back to me about the tests before she passed, though.
Sunshine was extra special, because she was born here. My first litter! The first time I had baby anythings.
Sunshine and Willow were the only girls in their litter of seven. From the start they were always near each other, and while Sunshine stiffly waddled around her seniorized corner, Willow hardly left her side. Willow still has her half sisters, Peach and HoneyBee, but I'm so sad that she's lost her best friend. They could be big bullies, but they were the sweetest to each other.
Here you can see Sunshine on the right, she starts grooming her brother's ear.

Aw, that's so sad. My condolences. I remember her when she was still in her moms belly. Losing one of a pair is the worst. I was practically hysterical when I lost Annie... It's like I absorbed all the heartache from Bitsy. I hope Willow is okay

I'm so sorry. It was a pleasure being able to watch her grow. It's hard to believe how quickly time passed. It doesn't feel that long ago when you first shared her baby pics over on TFM.

So sorry about sweet Sunshine. We at TFM certainly remember that first litter! As CallaLily said, it's hard to believe that over a year and a half has passed since then.

It's so nice that everyone remembers Sunshine. 
I've only see Willow when she comes out for new food. She may come out after I've gone to bed, but I actually haven't seen anyone too active. I'll get around to introducing some new toys and stuff soon, hopefully it'll cheer them all up.

My Bolt

What a day it's been. Bolt was my favorite favorite out of all the babies from my litters. I loved his face... I always thought his marking made his face look like a little heart.

Sweet little Bolt... I'm so sorry. One of the first time I remember "meeting" you, you went and rescued those two pregnant momma mice and the papa, from some crazy person that kept them under the porch or something? I couldn't believe you kept all those babies but I mean, how could you not? It's really sad to see any of these littles ones pass but you gave them such a good life, where each and every one of them mattered and was loved.
