Miscellaneous Picture Thread

This is the thread where you can share a picture--preferably one you've taken--of anything you want to (as long as it's appropriate, of course)!
Whether it be a mouse, dog, scenery...really anything you can think of (again, that complies with this site's rules). =) You may share one... or you may share several. Everyday, any day!

Here, straight out of the computer at work, is a rendition I did, many years ago using the "Paintbrush" program, of the first cory cat resident of the little office aquarium we used to have:

I named him Quantum Fireball, but we just called him "Q".

What a little power-pop of personality! Sometimes he'd spend all day meticulously cleaning his beloved green ceramic boat, inside and out -- this picture captured him working around the hull. Other times, he'd spend nearly an entire week hiding out inside his boat. Still other times he'd spend a whole day swimming frantically back and forth against a face of the tank, as though he felt the call of the wild to migrate and couldn't find the way around this blankety-blanky obstacle in his stream. But I could put my hand into the tank, palm up underneath him, and he'd settle right down onto it. Q was a joy. Funny little, finny little guy.

There seems to be an art theme going on so I thought I'd share. I'm attempting to work with markers. I have to add in the rest of the avengers, but so far...

Not going exactly to plan but it's a start.

OK -- now for some variety. Here's one from a trip to Chinatown in Los Angeles to pick up moon cakes. I took the subway in from Hollywood one Saturday, picked up the cakes, and spent the rest of the joyous afternoon wandering Broadway and the Garment District. Bought a pink hibiscus-pattern suitcase. Fun.

I used one of my trusty Olympus 35mm cameras, and this picture turned out so nice I had enlargements made. But they did a terrible cropping job and wrecked the balance. Grrrr ... but keep on smiling!
