Injury or irritation around eye?

Bubbles has always had some sort of irritation around her right eye, sometimes it’s less noticeable then other days but today especially it’s very noticeable. I don’t know what’s wrong? Maybe over grooming? Should I go to the vet? She doesn’t seem to mind or be in pain at all but it just looks like something is wrong. Sad

I would definitely take her to the vet, mostly due to the proximity of it to the eye. If the wound gets infected I can't imagine how short it would take for the eye to become infected as well.

I'm not sure if I would call this a hot spot, but mice do get itchy, irritated areas on their body when they're fed a diet too high in protein. For most mice sticking to about 12-14% is best, so if your diet is higher in protein than that that might be your cause.
She also could have just scratched herself, but just to be precautious Smile
