Breathing problem/sneezing

bought two fancy mice from petsmart last week, they were cage mates. One of them has these phases where he sneezes repeatedly and kind of looks like he’s choking? Even when he hasn’t eaten/there’s nothing that could be stuck in his throat. And his breathing is really loud and it sounds like hes wheezing but then in 10 minutes or less it goes away and hes completely fine. He doesn’t have trouble walking around/running, his coat is shiny and soft and I don’t see any fluid near his eyes or nose area. I don’t know what the problem could be. I use kaytee soft and cozy bedding and the other mouse doesn’t have an issue with it so I don’t think it could be an allergic reaction to the bedding. He usually just sneezes a bit so I’ve been deep cleaning their cage more often but tonight it sounded like he was gasping for air and he looked like he was in a lot of pain, but in 15 minutes he seemed to be fine again. I just got him 7 days ago but I noticed him sneezing about 3 days ago, and then I noticed him making a wheezing/choking sound around 2 days ago. Does anyone know what could be wrong? I have a video of how he was acting tonight if that could help

It could be a URI. I would take your mouse to an exotic vet ASAP; they’ll give you some antibiotics that should clear it up. Smile
