Wound in Ear Empty Wound in Ear

Hey everyone! Just noticed my brindle has a tiny bit of blood in her ear. It seems like just a minor cut but I'm worried she'll keep scratching at it - is this something to worry about? Is there anything I can do to help it heal?

Wash it with a bit of plain soap and water on a cotton pad and put a dot of antiseptic on it and watch she's not at it, scratching.

Thanks so much! I'll see if she'll let me - she's pretty skittish. What sort of antiseptic would you recommend?

Just a tiny dab of antibiotic cream or gel, like polysporin would be fine. Is she still scratching it? Is it already healing?

Yeah she's been scratching. I tried to clean it yesterday and she was NOT having it.... I'll try again today though. Not sure if there's anything I can do if she won't let me near it. I'll do my best though!

Bit of a strange update... just noticed my brindle’s cagemate has irritation in her ear as well. Could this be an allergy? I did switch them to Vitasmart parakeet food a couple weeks ago... maybe it’s a delayed reaction. Poor babies! Crying or Very sad
