is this wheel good?

i'm trying to look for some some supplies to get, so i decided to start with a wheel. i heard that mesh wheels with an open back were good, but so far this is the only thing i could find. amazon/ebay is blocked for some reason on my school computer, + it would be easier for me to be able to go to the store and pick it up instead of ordering online:

does anyone know if this is a safe wheel or should i try to find something different later on?

I can't remember whether open or closed backs on mesh wheels are safer; I believe that it's always better to opt for a closed back, but I could be wrong.

Otherwise though, from what I can tell the size and material look fine for a mouse!

I think that one looks safe- but I've seen that on some of the wheels the metal "spindle" like things in the middle of the wheel can be a bit sharp if they were not sanded or cut properly, it's different for the individual wheel.

I am scared that my girls and hamster would get their little feet stuck in those wheels. So I got them the disc wheels for each of their cages.

this is good, safe wheel for mice. 8" is a nice size, too.

note: it is true that they are NOT safe for hamsters, but for mice they are safe.

I've used this same wheel for ages and it's still in good condition. Never had any problems with mice getting "bumble foot" or getting stuck in the mesh. Smile

In fact, when I first got mice this was the first wheel I got and I still have it many years later. It's not even that loud.
