He fell asleep in an oven glove.

I had put it on with some oats in it to see if he would take them. He wouldn't take them with my hand in it but I left the glove with the oats on top of it in his bin.

I did that a few days ago. Today I went to do a partial bin clean and at first couldn't find him and thought he was just burried in his bedding. Turned out he fell asleep in the oven glove. Proportion wise the glove seems so heavy. I mean he was fine. Is the inside of an oven glove (thick) a safe place for him?

An oven glove is not appropriate to have in the cage. Their feet can get caught on most oven glove material. There are often flame retardant and chemically treatments on the material that could be toxic to your little friend. If he liked it you May want to consider something made for small animals and out of safer material. Examples below.
