Rice Pops
My mice and hamster absolutely love these things, but lately I've been wondering if they're safe to give to them, do you think it could cause respiratory problems?

These: http://m.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/ware-small-rice-pops-small-animal-treats?
They're not the healthiest treat with the added sugars and colors, but I doubt they'd cause respiratory problems .... unless there was a severe allergy?
Ingredients
Rice, Corn, Sugar, Allura Red A11, Tartrazine F09, Brilliant Blue Fo2
Guaranteed Analysis
Rice (max.) 45%, Corn (max.) 35%, Sugar (max.) 15%, Artificial Colors (max.) 5%.

Re: Rice Pops
I can't see any reason why this would cause respiratory problems. They are safe for mice but it's basically like giving them a candy bar.

Re: Rice Pops
Mice have no need of pet store junk food treats. Healthy real foods such as walnuts, oats, scrambled eggs, pumpkin seeds, banana or a bit of toast will be greedily scarfed!

Re: Rice Pops
Are these like unhealthier rice crispies? You could try giving them rice crispies instead, my mice love them

I think at first I was hoping it would help keep their teeth trim

Re: Rice Pops
Chewing on food and cardboard is plenty to wear down mouse teeth. You can also offer toys made from safe types of wood.
