Mouse Safe Water Proof Cover
I'm am making a shelf for Cucumber right now and it's a bigger size project. I'd really like to know if there's a paint or something like that I can just put over my DIY shelf to prevent water or urine damage being done to it. I'd prefer it be transparent as the shelf is already painted. I've checked my local stores and couldn't find anything :/ Thanks again

I've heard someone else here use plasti-kote fast dry enamel to coat the wooden levels of cages. Not sure where you would find that, but it seems to be a pretty common route!

Plasti-kote is what I always hear about to. If you’re in the U.S. you’ll have to order online I think. Make sure you get the brush on, not the spray. I hear it works really well but I’ve never tried it.
The only other thing I have heard about as much as that was mod podge but I’ve tried it and it really doesn’t help much at all.
I’m sure there are others that are safe, but these are the main two I’ve seen mentioned. I know there’s a gentleman on Facebook who makes elaborate palaces for his mice and that he covers the pieces with some sort of concrete patch and a clear coat over that, but I don’t recall what type. EDIT: I found his website which includes a page on the clear coat he uses. http://forbiddenmousecity.com/Building/Polyurethane/polyurethane.html
