Re: Mealworm questions
You can offer up to three mealworms in a day, at least 2-3 times a week.

Re: Mealworm questions
I believe it was said around 3 mealworms per mouse per day.
Edit: Oops, beaten to it. I really need to get in the habit of checking for another page of replies.

Re: Mealworm questions
I usually give my girls a 2 or 3 of treats a day, whether that's mealworms or something else.
But on special occasions (e.g. a mouse's birthday or christmas) they get a mouse buffet which is a bowl full of all their favourite things

Re: Mealworm questions
If you keep the mealworms in a fridge and take them out once a week to eat and stuff, they'll stay in their larval forms for a lot longer. Though for mice, I doubt anyone would buy them in bulk.

Re: Mealworm questions
Seeing as they're freezedried, I don't think I'll have to worry about them uh....evolving. Thanks! I give a pinch of oats and two cheerios every day, since that's all I find they like so far. I've given them a bit of cracker once, but that's something I only give on special occasions!

Re: Mealworm questions
My girls are obsessed with saltine crackers. I remember I was at a friend's house once, and we made the mistake of giving Little Cow a taste of saltine crackers. Big mistake. She went absolutely bonkers for them!

Re: Mealworm questions
I ate some crisps in bed once, and later had a mouse out on my bed to play. She managed to find the tiniest little crumb of crisp and sat there eating it lol. There noses must be so good, cuz I didn't even know that crumb was there.

Re: Mealworm questions
I don't know an exact time range, but dried foods don't go off for ages. I just keep mine in a resealable tub and then don't really think about it. With a few mice they'll get used up well before they go out of date I should think.
