Itching/scratching
Heya, first time mouse owner here. I often catch one of my mice is scratching himself and they all seem to rub their faces allot with their hands. Is this normal? Sorry if its an obvious question.
Re: Itching/scratching
Scratching every so often is normal, everyone has an itch sometimes! Just watch for constant scratching, as it could be a problem. As far as "rubbing their faces", that would be grooming. That is a normal and healthy behavior.

Re: Itching/scratching
Just make sure it doesn't become all-consuming and they do not develop bald patches or scabbing as those could be signs of an allergy to something. Ori recently developed an allergy to the wood shavings I was using and had little bumps and scabs all over and her scratching became the only thing she would do. Now that she is on a different non wood substrate her abnormal scratching and bumps are going away and she is playing again.
Not saying that this is what your little guy is doing just giving an example of when scratching can become a problem.

Re: Itching/scratching
As the others have said, mice normally scratch themselves, just like any other animal. They also clean themselves by either licking themselves or by licking their paws and then rubbing their paws through their fur, much like how a cat cleans itself. You should only be worried if they start scratching or grooming so much that parts of their body become inflamed, lose fur, or start bleeding.
