I concur. It can be SO hard to come home from the camp.

Where did you go? Because all of my camping experiences have been in the southwest United States, I'm unfamiliar with such arboreal vistas -- really only at Mount Tamalpais (Marin County, California).

My last "camp out" was at Bottomless Lakes near Roswell, New Mexico. I was on a vacation to Texas, but it was too much to pass up another chance to stay at a New Mexico campground. I like them so much. So I made a reservation for two nights and turned the back seat of my rental car into my bivouac, with a flashlight stuck under the front seat headrest for some light to read by for a little while before go-sleepie.

I listened to Alanis Morissettes new Ironic lyrics, then read about why they’re “coincidences” instead of irony, put down the phone and tuned into the TV. An episode of Two and a Half Men, and Charlie was talking to Jake about irony. Super funny! But not ironic. Laughing

My hamster, Rosie, is gone and now my half-wild mouse is my last little caged thing. So sad to put away the cage that I almost want to go find someone to fill it. Sad

I agree with @MerciToujoursMaPetiteBoop, there’s always somebody that needs a home. If you have the space/time/money/want — go for it. Very Happy

I’ve been so overloaded with cages that I’m actually looking forward to the space and time, but I did check out rescues. I don’t think I’ll get anything from a pet store but if anyone comes through a rescue I might scoop them up. I plan to move Wild Thing to Rosie’s table and then I can hang clothes in the closet again. Or move her table and get a sewing desk thing. Bittersweet. Sigh

Here, Peachy -- last month I was putzing around on the "updated" Floorplanner.com demo program, and I designed an entire sewing room. You can enjoy it vicariously until you get what you want. Sorry there were no dress forms in the furnishings selection, but you can pretend there is one standing out of the camera range if you need it. The wall cabinet on the right is supposed to be a clean-up station, where you can keep spritz bottles for cleaning the melamine work surfaces or scissors blades and that sort of thing, stain removers, first aid for sewing room mishaps -- all safely away from your fabrics and patterns in the tall cabinet, and a handy grab above the work table.

Be sure to try the demitasse of café au chocolat by the sewing machine -- I make it with Café Bustelo instant.

The no-kill shelter got in 6 baby hamsters. They just turned five weeks old yesterday. They didn’t have names yet so he has no name. I’ve been calling him “Tiny Creature” because he’s so itty bitty! Maybe his name will be Creature.

He’s weird but I like him.
