Bedding? Empty Bedding?

Post by GeoHiccup Sun 17 Jul 2016, 4:41 pm

Hello everyone, recently my boyfriend's boss has given us a large bag full of shredded paper as she wanted to help out with our mouse. However, I've heard a few things about paper being used as bedding, such as the ink from the paper, if chewed, being poisonous to the mice. Is this true? I will not use the paper bedding until I've heard a fair amount of replies from the trusted people of this website Smile We already have bedding in Twitch's home so it is okay for the moment, not dire.
Thanks all, Georgia and Kyle Smile

I agree with Windmilla. So unfortunate! My aunt once had two garbage bags full of shredded paper from her office that she brought me. Would have been nice.

I have heard that if the ink box says non toxic it's okay, but others have said that's still iffy.

It depends - is it shredded newspaper, or shredded printer paper? Shredded US newspaper is safe as it's soy-based, but a variety of printer paper isn't. The inks can be toxic.

Just to be 100% safe, I wouldn't use it.
