Mice show signs of grief and depression when a member of their colony is missing for a long time or passes away though, right? If I were to move someone, would she not miss her buddies? And would her buddies not miss her?

All the girls I've had to move around have adjusted well to new friends. Mice live "in the moment," and with other friends and toys, they tend to move right on. But that was why I said evaluate them. If it's a strongly bonded group maybe you don't want to go that route... Just an option, definitely up to you. Smile

I adopted two new baby girls from one of the shelter's other litters... by the time quarantine is up and everyone is ready to be introduced, the cage should be here and all set up. Waiting is sooo hard. Crying or Very sad

My little Cora has turned into such a plump little thing. I might skip the Boredom Breaker when I reorder stuff, or try it out with my lighter boys first. The girls can hardly touch it without it flipping over on them. Laughing

And this thing is super cute, but I bet you could pretty easily make your own. I can't wait to try!

I love this thing! Where did you see it? Imogene doesn't really care for toys (just ordered a cork tunnel for her as she likes things to run through and chew on) but maybe she'd enjoy this thingie!

Thanks, Peachy. I just found a few on ebay as well. They're made in China so, if I feel like ordering directly from Shanghai, I can get one for under $9 including shipping. Although the pictures show both a dwarf and Syrian hamster, my Imogene is a substantial girl so I don't know if it would hold up for her. Like you, I think cobbling one together from bird ladders would work better as we'd be able to customize it for our specific animals.

I had a super cool thing for goose similar to the hanging ladder things you posted. He looooved it so much. It was two ladders separated by a diagonal little ladder then was suspended by chains on top. Anyway, they would all be easy to make, and per usual, mice love everything you give them ❤

How neat! I haven't been into making MES toys so my cages have been kinda lame for a few weeks... My old mice have all been pretty content with the chew and tunnel types of toys (with a climbing toy here and there), but my new mice are going to climb walls if I don't up the toy game. These hanging ladder toys sound perfect!

The house is here, too. I hope they'll still be available when I'm ready to order another, I really love it. Pearl was kind enough to model. Smile
