Re: Housing Pictures
Hi Blessed, cute setups Do you like the paper towels on the ground? I've thought about doing that but wasn't sure how that would work out for odor control. Let me know, thanks!

Re: Housing Pictures
Thanks, Rodents rock! Yes, I do like the paper towels a whole lot. It motivates me to clean more often because it's easier to clean (I've made a schedule to clean on Mondays and Fridays), and they're cheap and last a long time. It looks nice, too, the first day, typically. But yeah, it certainly doesn't help with odor. Because you have a male (no offense; but my male I had had an AWFUL odor, so I know about that ) then it might be fine the first day, lol. To be honest, I don't remember when it started smelling bad after the cleaning when I had Danny. So, bedding controls odor for so long, looks great, and smells good... Cons: Harder or more of a nuisance to clean, and more pricey, and perhaps doesn't last as long depending on the size of bag you get, how often you clean the cage, and how much bedding you use.

Re: Housing Pictures
Thanks for the info Blessed. I guess I will continue to use the Carefresh for the odor control. The paper towels do look nice, but I'm sure they get poo on them pretty quick. I had Mickey out today, on my lap with a towel down, he was probably only out for about 5-10 minutes and he pooped about 5-7 times. How can something that small poo that much! LOL LOL He's just so darn cute though!

Re: Housing Pictures
I was going to do a full clean today but realized that with only 3 mice in the cage the bedding didn't need changed. So I changed around their toys and pulled out the ones that needed a good scrub down. They certainly use every square inch of this cage and I am so happy with the money I spent on it. You even get a bonus Brisby (she was originally Charlotte but it just didn't stick). They have tons of bedding and because our basement apartment stays quite cold they have the cardboard box stuffed with hay, napkins, and fleece to give them somewhere super warm to sleep.

Re: Housing Pictures
Very cool, Rodents Rock! Does Mickey like the plastic bird ladder? I use the wood ones but they get dirty fast, it would be nice to have a plastic one that can last practically forever.

Re: Housing Pictures
I'm so sorry I missed this post! Thank you! My dad and I built it together, it's made of Plexiglass for the top and wood for the legs. I hot glued the lid of a cardboard shoebox on the top, so it could hold a little bedding. It happened fit perfectly in that tank! My dad got the Plexiglass for free from his work, and it happened to be just the right size.Rodents rock! wrote:AnonymousMouseOwner wrote:Today's setup is rather simple for this group, but I thought I'd share anyway. I just cleaned it kinda quick, didn't have any MES or anything to put in . They really like the second story!
Hi AnonymousMouseOwner. Â Very cool second floor! Did you build that?
